First Natural Capital Financing Facility loan agreement channels LIFE funding to rewilding initiative

On 11 April 2017, the European Commission and the European Investment Bank (EIB) announced the first loan agreement backed by the Natural Capital Financing Facility (NCFF), one of the two innovative financial instruments funded by the LIFE programme. EU action plan for nature to boost spending on LIFE Nature and biodiversity

Following a thorough evaluation of the Birds and Habitats Directives, the European Commission has adopted the Action Plan for nature, people and the economy.
