More about the deal between WMG and Sureel AI

Warner Music said the acquisition is intended to strengthen the company’s capabilities in protecting, controlling, and monetizing intellectual property.

In particular, Sureel’s technology will help track the use of musical works, artists’ voices, their likenesses, and creative styles in content created with artificial intelligence or used to train AI.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Sureel will continue to operate as a separate platform and provide services to participants in the music industry and companies working with AI technologies.

More about Sureel AI

Sureel AI was founded in 2022. The company developed a patented technology that creates the so-called “AI-DNA” of musical works and decomposes them into individual components, allowing tracking of the use of these elements in the operation and training of AI models.

In addition to music attribution tools, Sureel AI offers solutions for IP compliance auditing and control, AI model optimization, and business analytics.

The company has also developed a set of tools to track the use of voices, appearance, and stage personas of performers during AI model training and content generation. This covers voice clones, digital avatars, and reproduction of artists’ creative styles.
