Google unveiled the Nano Banana 2 Lite and Gemini Omni Flash models

Google introduced two new artificial intelligence models for developers: the image generator Nano Banana 2 Lite and the tool for creating and editing videos, Gemini Omni Flash.

The company announced this.

Both solutions are already available in Google AI Studio, the Gemini API and the company’s enterprise platforms, and are also integrated into the ecosystem’s consumer services.

Details on Nano Banana 2 Lite

Nano Banana 2 Lite has become the fastest and most cost-effective model in the Nano Banana line.

According to Google, it is intended for rapid generation of a large number of images and can create them in about four seconds. The cost of using the model is $0.034 per 1000-pixel image.

The company recommends Nano Banana 2 Lite as a replacement for the previous Nano Banana model (Gemini 2.5 Flash Image).

In addition to developer platforms, Nano Banana 2 Lite will also be available in Google Search’s AI Mode, the Gemini app, NotebookLM, Google Photos, Stitch, Google Flow and Google Ads.

Details on Gemini Omni Flash

Google also opened access to Gemini Omni Flash — a model for generating and editing videos.

It supports creating videos from text, images and video clips, and also allows editing clips using text and voice commands.

The model supports multimodal requests, uses Gemini’s knowledge to construct scenes and can synchronize text elements with actions in the video. The generation cost is $0.10 per second of finished video.

Currently Gemini Omni Flash supports creating videos up to 10 seconds long. Longer clips are expected to appear later.

The company adds that the models can be used together: generate an image with Nano Banana 2 Lite and then pass it to Gemini Omni Flash to create an animated video.

Recall that the U.S. government lifted export controls on Anthropic’s newest AI models, Fable 5 and Mythos 5. The company will gradually restore access to the models for users worldwide starting July 1.
