Evertrue Capital raises €15 million debut fund backed by British Business Bank and Phoenix Court

British VC firm Evertrue Capital, the debut fund of Yvonne Bajela, has closed at €15 million ($17 million) aiming to invest €299-€599k (£250k–£500k) at pre-Seed in founders building frontier technologies primarily in the UK and Europe.

The fund is backed by Phoenix Court through Basecamp, its fund of funds investing in a global community of emerging managers, alongside the British Business Bank, Better Society Capital, Bootstrap 4F (Invest in Women Taskforce) and Allocator One.

Yvonne Bajela, founder and General Partner at Evertrue Capital, says: “Over the past decade, I’ve backed founders who went on to build billion-dollar companies, and almost none of them looked obvious at the start. The ones I’m drawn to understand a problem deeply, often from lived experience, and have the conviction and discipline to build around it. They don’t always fit a familiar pattern, but their insight gives them an edge others can’t yet see.

“The best moment to invest is before the market has proof. That belief has shaped Evertrue. We make concentrated, early bets and give founders the capital, access and support to build companies of consequence.”

Evertrue’s close follows several European early-stage VC fund announcements in 2026.

In the UK, Nauta secured a €60 million first close to back software and DeepTech startups, while Project Ventures launched a €5.8 million fund targeting AI and research-led businesses.

Elsewhere, Germany’s Vanagon Ventures closed a €20 million debut fund, also backed by Allocator One, while Berlin-based solo GP Robin Capital just today also closed a €15 million second fund.

Spain’s Masia secured €18 million, Belgium’s solo-GP NewSchool VC closed €10 million, and Germany’s ZOHO.VC reached a €7 million first close.

These fund closes represent approximately €130 million in disclosed capital, rising to €145 million including Evertrue.

EU-Startups previously named Evertrue among the British Business Bank’s first microfund recipients in June 2026, having interviewed Bajela about her investment approach in 2021.

Zaki Gabe-Wilkinson, co-founder of YC-backed Revion, adds: “Yvonne was our first cheque and backed us from day zero. Her conviction in us as founders was clear from the start and she immediately got to work, helping us find top talent and opening doors across the UK and US to industry leaders and investors ahead of our Seed round.”

Evertrue was founded on a belief shaped by Yvonne’s career in investing: that insight often comes before the evidence. Yvonne was previously a Partner at Phoenix Court, home of LocalGlobe and Latitude.

After beginning her career at Goldman Sachs and founding her own company, she joined Mitsui & Co., where she became one of its youngest investment managers, investing globally in tech companies including Wise and helping portfolio companies expand into Asia. She later became a founding member and Principal at Impact X Capital, leading its Seed investment in Marshmallow, before joining Phoenix Court as a Partner, where she invested in and supported technology companies including Moove.

According to Evertrue, fundraising for solo GPs has become increasingly difficult, with 67% of new VC funds launched in 2024 targeted under €8.9 million ($10 million).

Rather than pursuing a high-volume portfolio strategy, Evertrue will lead a concentrated number of investments each year.

The fund has already invested in seven companies, including:

  • Revion, agentic AI for the automotive sector
  • Poindexter Labs, an AI capability and efficiency lab
  • Zuba, the FinTech building the infrastructure for global businesses
  • Zaro, the shared knowledge layer for enterprises.

Half the portfolio has already launched operations in the US.

Jocelyn D’Arcy, co-founder of Poindexter Labs, says: “Yvonne saw what we were building before it was easy to explain, back when training data was still an afterthought to most investors. That early belief gave us the confidence to go after the partnerships that mattered.”
