Ukrainian UForce and American ReconCraft agree on joint production of marine drones in the US

Ukrainian company UForce, the developer of the Magura marine drones, has entered a partnership with the American boatmaker ReconCraft. 

This was reported by Business Insider.

Under the cooperation, the parties plan to launch licensed production of maritime drones in the US.

What is known about the partnership

The outlet writes that under the cooperation UForce will provide the American side with its combat-tested aerial, maritime and ground unmanned systems, autonomous control software, as well as command and control technologies.

UForce CEO Oleh Rohynskyi noted that the cooperation will combine Ukrainian combat experience with US manufacturing capabilities. 

ReconCraft co-founder Joe Silkovski said the partnership will enable the US military to be equipped with new capabilities faster, using the existing Magura platform instead of building a new system from scratch.

Business Insider also writes that Western defense companies are increasingly cooperating with Ukrainian manufacturers, combining partners’ production capabilities with technologies tested in combat in Ukraine.

What is known about UForce

Among UForce’s co-founders is Oleksii Honcharuk, the former prime minister of Ukraine. The board of directors includes former UK defense minister Ben Wallace.

The company develops autonomous systems for air, sea and land — aimed at the needs of allied armies.

According to CEO Oleh Rohynskyi, Ukrainian technologies were created not in laboratories but directly under the pressure of combat conditions. «We never had expensive systems, so our solutions had to work in real combat», — he told Bloomberg.

According to data from YouControl, UFORCE GLOBAL LIMITED was registered in the UK in January 2025. Oleksii Honcharuk owns 75% of the company.

Among the best-known developments are the Magura marine drones, which were used in operations in the Black Sea and helped disable or destroy more than a dozen Russian ships.

In March 2026 the company raised $50 mln in investments and received a valuation of over $1 billion. This gives it unicorn status.

Production for foreign markets

As Forbes reports, UForce is already building factories in Europe (locations undisclosed) where they will manufacture adapted versions of the Ukrainian drones for Western armies.

Versions for Western armies will differ significantly from those used on the front in Ukraine:

• they must withstand storm conditions in the Atlantic and the Mediterranean;
• they will have a secure supply chain without cheap Chinese components;
• they will meet NATO safety and compatibility standards.

Such drones will be more expensive than the Ukrainian variants but, according to the company, may cost less than half the price of American competitors (for comparison, the Saronic marine drone is estimated at around $2 million).

What is known about ReconCraft

ReconCraft is an American shipbuilding company from Portland that specializes in the design and production of high-speed boats for special forces units.

Recall that on July 22, 2026 Ukraine and the US signed a bilateral statement of intent that opens the possibility of exporting Ukrainian combat drones to the United States for military testing.
