MPA Engage project presentation to the European Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries

Before the opening of the IUCN world conservation congress, on Thursday 2nd of September, the Calanques National Park has received the official visit of Virginijus Sinkevičius, European Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries, and its team.

The Calanques NP managers offered him a field trip to show him their territory and the different issues at stake in the MPA.

It was an opportuity to present the MPA Engage project as well as it objectives and general methodology.

They used pictures to illustrate the main climate change impacts monitored in the Calanques NP, but also in other Mediterranean MPAs, in order to create a Mediterranean climate change observatory.
