Meta launched the Pocket gaming app to create mini-projects using AI

Meta has launched a new app, Pocket, that allows creating small interactive apps and games using text prompts to artificial intelligence.

TechCrunch reports on this.

The launch took place without an official announcement, which may be an informal start to an experimental phase.

More about Meta’s new app

Pocket is positioned as a “creative platform for creating and sharing gizmos” (gizmos) — the name given to the interactive elements created within the system.

In addition to generation tools, the app includes a feed that allows browsing and playing projects by other users.

The arrival of Pocket was the result of Meta’s acquisition earlier this year of the team behind the gaming platform Gizmo.

The publication writes that the official release of Pocket on the App Store and Google Play occurred a few days earlier — June 29, 2026. Due to the product’s novelty, the exact number of downloads is currently unknown.

According to TechCrunch, the launch of Pocket is part of Meta’s broader strategy to roll out AI creativity tools at scale. Earlier the tech giant released the Meta AI image-creation tool and the AI video generator Vibes.

Recall that at the end of June Facebook updated the Creator Studio tool and turned it into a standalone app with a built-in AI assistant for content creators. The new app is intended to help creators grow their audience on Facebook and manage content.
