MEDSEALITTER starts transferring phase

The first informative seminar, within transferring phase of MEDSEALITTER, , was held last april 5 by the Interreg Medsealitter project partners in Manarola, 5 Terre National Park headquarter. The directors of 5 Marine Protected Areas attending the initiative were invited not only to consider an official adoption of the new protocol, but also to the improve its applicability.

All the attendants underlined how, in spite several marine litter monitoring and mitigation activities, there was a lack of coordinated management at local and national level. The collaboration between research institutions, civil society and marine protected areas – key actors of MEDSEALITTER – was therefore welcomed by those participants, who also appreciated the project’s goal of networking with the Amp of MEDSEALITTER countries.

The Coast Guard / Harbor Master’s Office and ARPA LIGURIA attended the meeting too. Both of them appreciated the new protocol and its innovative aspects.
