Mark Zuckerberg predicts that in five years billions of people will have personal AI agents

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that over the next five years billions of people will have their own personal AI agents.

According to him, these assistants will operate 24/7 to achieve users’ goals across different areas of life.

According to Mark Zuckerberg, personal AI agents will be able to understand users’ goals and work around the clock to accomplish them. He noted that such systems could help with finances, health issues, interpersonal relationships and household management.

The head of Meta also said that as the number of AI agents grows, messengers will become increasingly important. In his view, WhatsApp is already the main platform through which users interact with Meta AI.

Meta is not the only company developing personal AI agents. Similar solutions are also being built by Google and Anthropic. In particular, Google is integrating agents into Search.

What financial figures Meta has thanks to AI

Meta continues to increase investments in artificial intelligence development.

After the publication of its quarterly report, the company’s shares fell by almost 10%. Reality Labs, the division that develops AR glasses, VR devices and related software, recorded a loss of about $4.6 billion for the quarter.

According to TechCrunch, the company’s free cash flow for the quarter fell to $784 million versus $8.55 billion a year earlier. Meta attributes this to significant spending on building infrastructure for artificial intelligence. 

Zuckerberg said personal AI agents are expected to become the foundation for the next wave of products and revenue sources for Meta. 

Recall that Meta CEO said the US should accelerate the development of artificial intelligence rather than impose new restrictions.

In his view, the benefits of AI outweigh the potential risks.
