London’s AI Score raises €4.6 million to help businesses keep AI agents under control

UK-based AI Score, a startup easing the adoption and management of gen- and agentic-AI, has raised €4.6 million ($5.4 million) in Seed funding to accelerate product development, expand its operations, and continue building its platform for companies looking to safely introduce agentic AI into their workflows.

The round was led by Fuel Ventures, with continued support from founding investor GALLOS Technologies and backing from Robert Mann, founding partner at Marshall Bridge Ventures; Mo El Husseiny, managing partner at Ventura Capital; and Alan Morgan, co-founder of MMC Ventures.

“AI operates at a scale and level of automation that traditional governance simply wasn’t built for,” says Alex Harland, co-founder and CEO of AI Score. “Organisations need to be able to move quickly and capture the opportunity AI presents, without losing visibility or control. This investment allows us to accelerate our ambition to reinvent governance for the AI age, building intelligence directly into the process and giving organisations the confidence to win with AI.”

In 2026, EU-Startups coverage shows similar continued investment into the infrastructure and governance layers needed for enterprise AI adoption, with funding directed towards AI-agent security, monitoring, deployment controls, and enterprise AI foundations.

AI Score’s Seed round follows a broader pattern of European startups raising capital to address the operational challenges of adopting autonomous AI systems, with comparable announcements including Geordie AI in the UK, NeuralTrust in Spain, and Blockbrain in Germany.

Colin Bell, chair of Starling Bank and former head of HSBC Bank Europe, added that AI score was “building an approach that can turn governance from a constraint into a driver of value.”

Founded in 2025, AI Score has developed a real-time platform designed to track and control the use of generative AI and agentic AI across businesses. The startup aims to give companies the ability to benefit from increasingly autonomous AI systems while maintaining visibility, security, and control over how these technologies are used.

AI Score was founded by Alex Harland, the company’s chief executive, who was part of the founding team at the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), and Benita Tibb, a former City lawyer. The startup also counts Jonathan Kewley among its co-founders and advisors.

Its wider advisory network includes Sir Jeremy Fleming, the former director of GCHQ, Colin Bell, chair of Starling Bank and former head of HSBC Bank Europe, and Nick Trim, co-founder and former executive at cybersecurity company Darktrace.

As businesses move quickly to integrate AI tools into everyday operations, AI Score believes traditional governance approaches are struggling to keep pace with the speed and scale of adoption. The startup’s platform is designed to embed governance directly into AI processes, allowing companies to adopt new technologies without compromising oversight.

AI Score’s approach focuses on creating what it describes as an intelligent governance layer between businesses and their AI ambitions. The startup aims to support companies as they navigate the risks and opportunities created by autonomous AI systems, particularly as agentic AI becomes more widely adopted across industries.

The latest investment follows AI Score’s €860k ($1 million) pre-Seed round in November. The company reported increased revenue in the first half of the year, driven by demand from organisations operating in highly regulated and data-sensitive sectors, including a leading law firm, major global consumer brands, a leading UK fintech, FTSE 250 companies, and Magic Circle law firms.
