To mark EU Mobility Week, we visited Erasmus University Rotterdam (the Netherlands), one of the partners in U-MOB LIFE, a project that is promoting sustainable mobility on university campuses through a new knowledge-exchange network. Sustainable mobility policies have typically been oriented to what cities can do, with some more recent attention on practices that private enterprises can introduce for their employees. However, universities are significant traffic generators in the towns and cities where they are located – large numbers of students, employees and visitors travel to, from and within campuses every day.
