Anthropic filed documents for an IPO: company valuation could reach $2 trillion
Anthropic has filed documents for an initial public offering (IPO). The company plans to list on the U.S. Nasdaq exchange, where its shares will trade under the symbol ANT.
The company announced this.
The developer of Claude filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
What is known about Anthropic’s IPO
Anthropic plans to offer Class A common stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market — one of the tiers of the Nasdaq stock exchange.
At the same time, the company has not yet determined how many shares it will offer investors or at what price. Accordingly, the total amount Anthropic plans to raise in the IPO has not been disclosed.
The public offering will be conducted on the basis of a prospectus — a document in which the company discloses information necessary for potential investors to assess the investment.
When Anthropic’s shares will appear on the exchange
Anthropic has now begun the formal process of entering the public markets. The registration statement filed with the SEC has not yet become effective, so the company cannot yet sell shares as part of the planned IPO or accept orders to purchase them.
Anthropic has also not announced the trading start date. It will be known after the required procedures are completed and the final terms of the offering are set.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Anthropic’s value during the upcoming IPO could reach $1.5–2 trillion, although the final valuation has not been determined.
What Anthropic’s financials look like
According to the financial statements Anthropic filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the company reported $16.3 billion in revenue for the first half of 2026. That is roughly 14 times higher than the same period in 2025, when revenue was $1.16 billion.
For the full year 2025 the company earned $4.6 billion.
At the same time, Anthropic continues to spend heavily on AI development. For the first six months of 2026 its operating expenses were nearly $17 billion, of which $8.9 billion went to compute and infrastructure. Operating loss narrowed from $2.1 billion a year earlier to $693 million.
Meanwhile, Anthropic’s net loss for the first half reached $80.7 billion. As Reuters explains, much of this amount is not related to the company’s direct expenses but to the revaluation of financial instruments, including convertible debt.
Recall that on October 22 Anthropic introduced Claude Duet — a new AI agent that can independently track a user’s work items, offer assistance and execute tasks in connected apps.
