Anthropic and UK’s Hg will create a company in Europe to deploy AI in business

Anthropic, together with the British investment group Hg, will establish a consulting company in Europe.

This was reported by the Financial Times.

It will help enterprises implement artificial intelligence, develop new products and improve existing ones. The launch is planned by the end of 2026.

How the new Anthropic and Hg company will work

The new company will hire AI consultants and engineers who will work directly with European businesses. They will assist in creating AI-based products or integrating the technology into existing services and workflows.

The company will have offices in London and Berlin. Its main clients will be enterprise software developers and other businesses. Companies from Hg’s investment portfolio will also be able to use its services.

Anthropic will invest its own capital in the new business, while Hg will raise funding from the funds it manages, including HgCapital Trust. The amount of future investments and the partners’ shares have not been disclosed yet.

Which other AI companies are launching similar services

For Anthropic, this will be the first standalone consulting company in Europe. Earlier this year it, together with investment groups Blackstone and Hellman & Friedman, created a company called Ode in the US. The partners planned to raise $1.5 billion to help American enterprises implement artificial intelligence. Other investors in the project include Goldman Sachs and Apollo Global.

A similar direction is being developed by Anthropic’s rival — OpenAI. In May 2026 the company created a joint venture, OpenAI Deployment Company, together with investment groups TPG, Advent, Bain Capital and Brookfield. Its goal is to help businesses deploy OpenAI products.

Thus, AI developers are entering a market traditionally served by large consulting firms. These firms already provide businesses with services to implement new technologies, and the emergence of dedicated consulting companies from Anthropic and OpenAI could intensify competition for corporate clients.

Recall that Anthropic presented Claude Duet — a new AI agent that can independently track a user’s work tasks, offer help and perform tasks in connected applications.

Unlike a regular chatbot, it does not require a separate prompt for each action: the assistant can proactively notify about an important event or issue it has detected.
