Angel One Fund invested in Ukrainian defense-tech startup Vigilant Works. What is known about the deal?

Ukrainian venture fund Angel One Fund announced an investment in defense-tech startup Vigilant Works.

This is the fund’s 14th investment in 2.5 years of operation and its fourth — in defense technologies in 2026.

What is known about the deal

The size of the investment has not been disclosed. The fund only noted that it corresponds to their average investment check.

In March 2026 the fund’s founder Ivan Petrenko told Forbes Ukraine in an interview that the average Angel One check ranges from $50,000 to $200,000.

The raised funds will be directed to the development of autonomy technologies, creation of radar solutions and scaling operational activities. At the same time, development of the Algiz-2 system is additionally financed through grants.

The first contact between Angel One Fund and Vigilant Works took place during one of the Brave1 cluster events, where Ukrainian defense-tech companies presented their developments to investors and partners.

«We invest in technologies that remove critical constraints on the battlefield. Vigilant Works is turning counter-drone response from a reactive process into an autonomous system — from target detection to interception. It is especially important to us that the team has already passed combat testing, is developing its own autonomy stack, and is building a product capable of scaling with the threat,» — commented CEO Angel One Fund Ivan Petrenko.

The fund also reported that details of the previous investment deal, closed in June 2026, are not being disclosed at this time.

Recall that in March 2026, the venture fund Angel One raised approximately $3 million for the second fund. During 2026 the team plans to invest these funds in 12 Ukrainian startups.

The new fund will invest equally in civilian and Defence Tech projects.

Vigilant Works — is a Ukrainian DefenseTech startup specializing in the development of counter-UAV systems.

The company’s main product is the interceptor system Algiz-1, which has already passed combat trials.

The team is currently working on a new version, Algiz-2, which is expected to reach speeds of over 600 km/h.

In addition, the startup is creating its own autonomous control technologies and is working on developing radar systems in Ukraine. The company was previously selected for the Brave1 / Ministry of Defense EU4UA program, implemented with support from BRDO.
