Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation creates AI Factory — its own hardware and software for state AI services

Ukraine will launch its first state infrastructure for the development of artificial intelligence, called AI Factory. This was announced by Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

The project will become the technical basis for state AI services created by the WINWIN AI Center of Excellence under the Ministry of Digital Transformation. First and foremost, this refers to the AI assistant in the Diya app, and in the future, the AI tutor in Mriya, as well as solutions for defense, science, and medicine.

According to Fedorov, Ukraine’s goal is to become one of the world’s top three leaders in AI development and implementation by 2030. One of the key factors for achieving this goal is the availability of infrastructure on which AI services will operate: computing clusters, data warehouses, etc.

Having its own AI infrastructure will allow Ukraine to process requests in state systems based on AI more quickly, as well as guarantee the preservation of data within the country, which is critically important for national security.

What AI Factory offers

Technological base — modern GPU computing clusters, water-cooled server rooms, data storage facilities, and other equipment necessary for AI to function properly.

Software — environments for training and running models, interfaces for data preparation, monitoring and automation tools.

Data — integration with state registries, tools for cleaning, annotating, and transferring data to ensure the quality of input information.

Team expertise — training programs for specialists who will develop and implement AI solutions in the public sector and for the Armed Forces.
