Ukraine and NVIDIA will work on creating sovereign artificial intelligence

Ukraine and NVIDIA are launching a joint initiative to create sovereign artificial intelligence and develop state AI infrastructure.

This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov.

The project will be a continuation of AI Factory, a state AI platform based on NVIDIA solutions, which has already been launched in Ukraine. The new initiative is intended to strengthen the country’s technological independence and data protection, which the government considers a matter of national security.

Within the partnership with NVIDIA, they plan to:

• develop national infrastructure based on NVIDIA technologies;

• educational programs and training of specialists in the field of artificial intelligence;

• joint R&D projects;

• support the Ukrainian startup ecosystem.

The first result of the collaboration will be the development of Diia AI LLM, a sovereign large language model trained on Ukrainian data, legislation, and public services.

As Fedorov noted, it will become the technological basis for all AI solutions in the Diia product ecosystem — from the assistant on the portal to the future voice assistant in the mobile application.

Access to NVIDIA’s expertise and technologies will enable Ukraine to train models faster, optimize infrastructure costs, and create world-class solutions.
