Through an opinion drafted by János Adám Karácsony (HU/EPP), Member of Tahitótfalu Local Council, EU’s local and regional governments call for measures to ensure that the ongoing Covid-19 crisis will not accelerate Europe’s demographic decline. The Annual Local and Regional Barometer published by the European Committee of the Regions this week estimates that the pandemic may affect family planning and increase the brain drain from rural, peripheral and remote regions.
