Swedish-Finnish Studio555 Raises €4M to launch a groundbreaking interior design game app

Nordic technology company Studio555 has secured €4 million in seed funding to launch a first-of-its-kind app that blends interior design with mobile gaming, creating an entirely new creative category. The round is co-led by HOF Capital and Failup Ventures. It also featured participation from some of the most influential figures in the gaming industry.

• Founded in 2023, Studio555 is a Nordic technology company operating at the crossroads of gaming, interior design, and social experience. The company is led by CEO Joel Roos, a seasoned entrepreneur with over 15 years in the interiors industry, and former King leads Stina Larsson (CTO) and Axel Ullberger (CPO), who played key roles in the success of Candy Crush Saga. 
• The founding team combines deep expertise in UX, real-time game development, and visual storytelling, with prior experience at King, EA, Rovio, and leading Nordic design studios.
• The company’s debut app – set to launch in 2026 – offers an intuitive platform where users can creatively explore and design interior spaces in a playful, gamified environment with no prior design experience.

 “We’re using the same engineering discipline we applied to global games – real-time insights, rock-solid performance – to build a high-performance creative platform,” CTO Stina Larsson mentions.

Investment Details

• The round is co-led by HOF Capital, a global venture capital firm headquartered in New York, and Failup Ventures, an early-stage VC firm with offices in New York and Helsinki focused on bold consumer technology plays.
• The round was also backed by individual gaming investors Timo Soininen, Mikko Kodisoja and Riccardo Zacconi.
