Polish startup SOLO Workout raises €3.5M to expand smart fitness platform

SOLO Workout, a Polish startup that transforms traditional gym equipment into smart, connected fitness systems, has raised a €3.5 million in funding (PLN 15 million) for the development and international expansion of its platform for digitizing strength training. The round was backed by Maciej Zientara and a grant from the PARP in the SMART path program, My Company Polska reports.

About SOLO Workout

  • SOLO Workout, founded in 2017 by Rafał Kasperowicz and Mateusz Semegen, focuses on modernizing fitness equipment by adding smart sensors to existing machines at a lower cost.

  • Their system tracks key workout data like repetitions, weight, and movement phases in real time. It offers a virtual AI coach for personalized training.

“Our goal is to make smart training accessible to every gym, regardless of budget. Instead of investing in expensive new equipment, clubs can use our proprietary sensors to digitize their existing machines,” says the company on their Linkedin.

Investment details

The funding comes from two sources: €1million (PLN 4.5 million) in an investment round led by Maciej Zientara, founder and managing partner of Supernova Group Investment Holding, and a €2.4million (PLN 10.5 million) grant from the PARP in the SMART path program.

  • The PARP SMART Path is a Polish government funding program designed to support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MŚP) in implementing research and development (R&D) results, enhancing innovation, and improving digital and green transformation.

The funds will allow the company to scale its operations, further develop its AI-based technology and enter key foreign markets, including the United States.
