Danish company Skycore Semiconductors raises €5M seed round to advance power IC technology for next-gen AI data centers

Skycore Semiconductors, a Danish company which develops efficient power integrated circuits for high-voltage applications, has raised €5 million in seed funding to accelerate the development of Power Integrated Circuit (IC) technology for powering next-generation AI data centers. The round was led by Amadeus APEX Technology Fund (APEX Ventures), with participation from First Momentum Ventures, Mätch VC, and Balnord. 

About Skycore Semiconductors

• Skycore Semiconductors is a Copenhagen-based fabless semiconductor company developing power integrated circuits for high-voltage energy conversion. 

• Using patented switched-capacitor technology originating from the Technical University of Denmark, the company designs microchips that consolidate multiple components into a compact, efficient solution suitable for applications such as consumer electronics, data centers, automotive systems, and telecommunications. 

• Skycore works with European research institutions and industry partners, focusing on engineering and operational processes to support scalable and energy-efficient power conversion.

Investment details

The round was led by Amadeus APEX Technology Fund (APEX Ventures), with participation from First Momentum Ventures, Mätch VC, and Balnord. 

• APEX Ventures is a Vienna-based venture capital firm investing in early-stage deep-tech and medical AI startups. The firm focuses on Seed and Series A companies developing technologically driven solutions.

• First Momentum Ventures is a German pre-seed VC firm that invests in early-stage deep-tech, industrial tech, and B2B startups across Europe. 

• Mätch VC is a Stuttgart-based early-stage venture capital firm that invests in European industrial deep-tech, sustainability, and enterprise software startups.

• Balnord is a Luxembourg and Gdańsk-based venture fund investing in deep tech and frontier tech startups from Poland and the Baltic Sea region at early and later stages, focusing on supply chain, healthcare, space tech, and dual-use solutions.

Recently, Balnord Fund I raised €70M to boost frontier tech and dual-use startups across the Baltic Sea region.

This investment will be used for growing Skycore Semiconductors team, product development, manufacturing, and to accelerate its journey towards large-scale market deployment.
