Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold, a 10-inch tri-fold smartphone priced at $2,440
Samsung has unveiled its first triple-folding smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold.
This move is a direct response to intensifying competition in the foldable device segment, where Chinese manufacturers have been actively expanding their presence recently.
- The Galaxy Z TriFold, which uses three separate panels, unfolds into a large 253.1 mm (10-inch) display. This makes its screen almost 25% larger than that of the current Galaxy Z Fold 7 model.
- Despite the innovation, analysts remain cautious, predicting that foldable devices will remain a niche category for now. The high cost of the device, which starts at $2,440 in South Korea, as well as the technological challenges of production, are the main limiting factors.
- In terms of technical specifications, the TriFold is equipped with the largest battery of any Samsung flagship smartphone. The device also supports ultra-fast charging, capable of replenishing the charge to 50% in just 30 minutes.
Samsung has scheduled the launch of the TriFold in South Korea for December 12. By the end of 2025, the device will be gradually introduced to the markets of China, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates. The US market launch is expected to take place in early Q1 2026.
