Ukraine will be the first user of Quantum Systems’ Vector AI drones for artillery detection

The German company Quantum Systems has transferred Vector AI reconnaissance drones to Ukraine.

This was announced on LinkedIn by Florian Seibel, co-founder and CEO of Quantum Systems.

  • Ukraine became the first user of a model equipped with the Polish WASP acoustic system, capable of detecting artillery fire at a distance of up to 15 km.

  • The WASP sensor determines the direction and distance to firing points, and the built-in artificial intelligence quickly processes the data. The drones can fly for up to four hours continuously, and the sensor weighs only about 150 grams, which does not affect maneuverability.

  • Vector AI is already being tested at training grounds and in combat conditions, and the manufacturer is working on making the drone automatically point the camera at the source of fire immediately after detection, which will increase the effectiveness of combating enemy artillery.

As a reminder, Quantum Systems previously acquired a 10% stake in Ukrainian company Frontline with the option to increase its stake to 25%. This will help Frontline replace Chinese components, integrate into the European defense ecosystem, and expand its presence in international markets.
