Polish biotech Proteine Resources raises funding from Radix Ventures to advance sustainable animal protein production

Proteine Resources, a Polish biotech startup, has raised a new investment round led by Radix Ventures. The new round follows the previous investment and brings the total funding to €12 million.

• Proteine is a Polish company focused on creating high-performance, sustainable proteins for animals. Using its proprietary insect bioconversion platform, Proteine upcycles mushroom stems and mycelium into premium-grade protein rich in bioavailable taurine and L-arginine. 

• These amino acids support immune balance, digestive health, allergy mitigation, and visible coat and skin improvements. According to the company, the product has also proven to be highly palatable, even for sensitive animals like cats, making it an innovative solution in pet nutrition.

Investment details 

The new investment round led by Radix Ventures extends the €9.5 million financing secured in July 2025 from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator, bringing the company’s total capital access to nearly €12 million in 2025.

• Radix Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm that invests in deep-tech projects across traditional industries like manufacturing, energy, and mobility, as well as emerging sectors such as space, dual-use technologies, and next-generation computing. 

Proteine Resources will use funding to build the world’s first fully autonomous alternative protein factory, expand a pilot facility in Mazowieckie to 100 tons annually, support clinical research, develop functional products, and commercialize the flagship product across European markets.
