German defense tech Project Q secures €7.5M to expand internet of defence capabilities with AI

Project Q, a German-based ​defense tech company specializing in AI-enhanced data integration and analysis solutions for the defense and security sectors, has secured €7.5 million in funding to expand its Internet of Defence (IoD) capabilities. The round was led by Project A, with participation from Expeditions Fund and Superangel. 

About Project Q

• Project Q is a German defense tech company founded by Leonard Wessendorff and Frank Christian Sprengel. It is specializing in software solutions for the defense, security, and industry sectors. 

• The company provides AI-enhanced analytics and situational awareness by offering seamless data integration and fusion capabilities, built on a platform-agnostic architecture for true interoperability. 

Investment details

The round was led by Project A, with participation from Expeditions Fund and Superangel. 

• Project A is a European early-stage investor, providing pre-seed and seed capital to tech startups in areas like fintech, resilience, and autonomous work.

• Expeditions Fund is a Warsaw-based venture capital firm investing in early-stage deep-tech and dual-use technologies, including defense, AI, quantum computing, and cybersecurity.

• Superangel is a Tallinn-based early stage investment fund and company builder, helping to start and grow the next wave of European technology startups.

The fresh capital will advance the development of the Q-Open Source Platform (Q-OSP) pursuing it mission to become a data integration platform that connects fragmented sensors and systems, as well as third party datasets with AI.
