OpenAI launches the Sora app for Android
OpenAI has released the Sora app for Android devices, CNBC reports.
Sora is an AI model from the creators of ChatGPT that can create realistic and detailed videos based on text descriptions.
Simply put, you write what you want to see, and Sora films it.
Sora is now available on Google Play for users in the US, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The app was initially launched for Apple devices. Less than five days after its release, the number of downloads exceeded 1 million. For three weeks, Sora held the top spot in the App Store, and now ranks fifth among free apps, behind Google’s Gemini and ChatGPT, among others.
OpenAI is working on expanding access to the application in Europe.
As a reminder, on October 21, 2025, OpenAI presented its own browser, ChatGPT Atlas.
The browser was created for more personalized interaction with the internet. It can book tickets, edit documents, and perform other actions on behalf of the user.
