The aim of the publication is “to review the already existing case studies and their effectiveness, study new possible solutions for the deployment of marine energy, highlight hindrances and start the foundation of a blue energy strategy in the Mediterranean area”.
The case studies include the implementation and results of the MAESTRALE, PELAGOS, INNOBLUEGROWTH and BLUE DEAL projects, assessing for instance how they addressed citizens perceptions’ of the development of Blue Energies. Also, the article “Marine Renewable Energy Clustering in the Mediterranean Sea” discusses the results of the PELAGOS project and how they helped identifying key issues and obstacles to the development of the Marine Renewable Energy sector.
