“The idea emerged in late 2024, with active development beginning in May 2025”: monobank launches monobazar
Ukrainian monobank launches monobazar. Starting December 8, the service will be available in beta testing mode for all banking customers.
The company shared details in a comment for AIN.
The app will allow users to sell and buy used items. All transactions are carried out through monobank, and payment is automatically transferred to the seller after the buyer picks up the item at the post office.
“The idea came about at the end of 2024, immediately after the launch of monomarket. The active development phase started at the end of May, and since then we have been moving towards beta testing,” the company adds.
Internal testing of the service began within the team on October 27. After that, a search bar was added, as well as the ability to edit ads, etc.
Currently, only individuals can post ads. However, they promise to make it available to sole proprietors in the future.
The first sellers on monoбазарі were the co-founders of Fintech-IT Group, Oleg Gorokhovskyi and Mykhailo Rogalskyi.
Until January 8, 2026, all sellers will be charged a commission of 0.1%, and then a minimum of 1.9%. Buyers only pay for delivery.
The “Buy in installments” service is also available. In this case, the seller will receive the entire amount at once.
According to the company, the launch of the product did not require “excessive resources.” “Everything was within the standard costs of development and the team.” At the start, the team consisted of 10 people. Currently, 18 employees are working on monoBazar.
“The most time-consuming part was not the technical implementation, but thinking through and working on the user experience and functionality to make the service as clear and convenient as possible from the first interaction. In preparation for the beta version, we deliberately “cut” some of the features in order to launch the product faster and get real feedback,” monobank explains.
The service has integrated artificial intelligence that analyzes photos of products and independently creates descriptions for them.
Here’s how AI works in monobazar
- The user takes a photo of the item they want to sell.
- They describe the product in a few words, and then the AI assistant creates the entire description on its own.
- The system generates a personal link that can be shared on social media.
