German Helsing raises €600M Series D with participation from Plural to powered defense tech in Europe

Helsing, an German defense tech company, has announced its €600M Series D funding round. The round was led by Prima Materia, alongside existing investor Plural and others, ESTVCA reports.

About Helsing

  • Helsing, founded in 2021, develops AI-based capabilities to protect our democracies. The company has been active in Ukraine since 2022, providing capabilities and technology for frontline operations, with personnel deployed on an ongoing basis. 

  • Acording to the company, a software-only approach and deep partnerships with industry have led to rapid market adoption, making Helsing one of the highest-valued startups in Europe.

Investment details 

The round was led by Prima Materia, alongside existing investors Estonian Plural, Lightspeed Ventures, Accel, General Catalyst, and SAAB, and new investors BDT & MSD Partners. 

  • Prima Materia is a Swiss venture firm investing in long-term science and technology-driven companies tackling foundational challenges.

The funding will be used to accelerate Helsing’s leadership in all-domain defense innovation.
