Google launches Preferred Sources feature: Now users can select sources for search queries

Google Search has introduced a new feature called Preferred Sources, which allows users to receive results only from selected websites or blogs.

  • The feature was first introduced at the end of June 2025. Users can add their favorite resources, from trusted media outlets and local media to niche blogs, so that they appear more often in search results.

  • It can also help filter out unwanted sites, such as russian-language ones, and set the search to only Ukrainian or Western sources.

  • There are no restrictions on the number of sources, but Google notes that the more sites you select, the less noticeable the effect of the feature will be.

For now, Preferred Sources is only being rolled out in the US and India. There is currently no information about its launch in other regions, including Europe.
