Gemini is being integrated into Google Translate: the app will get new AI features

Google is preparing a major update for the Google Translate app. In the code of APK version 9.15.114, Android Authority journalists found references to new features, including Gemini integration.

• Users will be able to switch between two modes: Fast (faster translation) and Advanced (more accurate translation).

• For now, the Advanced model is available only for English-Spanish and English-French pairs.

• In addition, the buttons for voice and handwriting input, as well as text insertion, will be moved to one line at the bottom. A model switcher will appear at the top and will be available on the results screen as well.

Other changes

• Conversation mode now automatically translates lines in real time, recognizes the language of the interlocutor and allows you to quickly switch between languages.

• Practice mode allows you to practice a foreign language. It can become a potential competitor to Duolingo.

Google has not yet officially announced the changes. But the company is actively expanding Gemini capabilities in its products.

Recently, the Canvas feature was added to the Gemini mobile app. Gemini has also received Storybook, a tool for creating fairy tales with photos and voice acting.
