Czech-founded voice AI startup Freya raises $3.5M seed round to automate business conversations

Freya, a Czech-founded startup develops secure, humanlike voice AI agents that automate business calls for enterprises, announces a $3.5 million seed round, with participation from Y Combinator, Rebel Fund, 212 VC, N1 Tech, BD Partners, and several angel investors.   • Freya was founded in 2024 by Tunga Bayrak (Turkey) and Tomáš Nepala (Czech Republic) and operates across San Francisco and Europe. The company develops secure, humanlike voice AI agents for automating complex business phone conversations. 

  • It provides a platform for designing, testing, and deploying AI agents for inbound and outbound calls, with a focus on sectors such as banking, fintech, and insurance. Freya’s solutions support both cloud and on-premise deployments, enabling enterprises to improve operational efficiency while maintaining compliance and data security.

Investment details

Freya has raised a $3.5 million seed round with participation from Y Combinator, Rebel Fund, Istanbul-based 212 VC, N1 Tech, Czech venture capital firm BD Partners, and several angel investors. The round was oversubscribed within two weeks and closed shortly after Y Combinator’s Demo Day.

Y Combinator has already invested in over 5,000 young companies, including such billion-dollar giants as Airbnb, Dropbox, Coinbase, and Stripe. The total value of companies in the Y Combinator portfolio exceeds $800 billion.

Earlier, Y Combinator has announced a new batch of startups. Ukrainian defense companies will be able to participate remotely.
