Elon Musk has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first person in the world with a net worth of $500 billion.

According to Forbes Real-Time Billionaires, as of 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time on October 1, 2025, his net worth is estimated at half a trillion dollars.

• Musk surpassed his closest competitor, Larry Ellison, by $150 billion and is now close to becoming the world’s first trillionaire.

• Musk’s wealth growth is due to the success of Tesla, whose shares rose nearly 4%, adding approximately $9.3 billion to his capital. His 12% stake in the company is now valued at $191 billion.

• In addition to Tesla, SpaceX, valued at $400 billion, and xAI Holdings, merged with X (formerly Twitter), with a total value of $113 billion, have contributed significantly to Musk’s wealth.

Over the past five years, Musk has consistently increased his wealth: in March 2020, he had $24.6 billion, in August of the same year, he crossed the $100 billion mark, and in December 2024, he reached $400 billion for the first time.
