OpenAI has announced the launch of a new feature in ChatGPT called Shopping Research. This tool is designed to automate the process of searching for and selecting products by offering users personalized shopping guides based on their queries and preferences.

The new feature allows users to describe the desired product or selection criteria, for example: “Find the quietest cordless vacuum cleaner for a small apartment” or “Help me choose a gift for my four-year-old niece who loves to draw.”

Instead of independently reviewing dozens of websites, ChatGPT asks clarifying questions, conducts in-depth searches for information on the internet, analyzes sources, and takes into account previous conversations and ChatGPT’s memory of the user.

The result is a personalized buyer’s guide with an overview of the best options, their key differences, and relevant information from trusted retailers.
“Shopping Research” is gradually becoming available on mobile devices and online for all registered ChatGPT users (including those on the free plan). For the holiday season, the company is offering virtually unlimited use of this feature for all plans.
