Finnish deeptech Brightplus secures €2M in funding to scale bio-based, recyclable textile coatings

Brightplus, a Finnish deep tech innovator transforming the future of textiles through recyclable, bio-based coatings, has secured €2 million funding round. The round was led by Collateral Good with co-lead participation from Butterfly Ventures and support from new and existing investors.

About Brightplus

• Brightplus, founded in 2014, is a Finnish material science company developing recyclable, bio-based coatings and bioplastics for textiles, glass, and packaging.

• Brightplus is a company that uses its proprietary BrightBio platform to create PFAS-free, waterless, and fully recyclable textile coatings. According to the company, their products offer high performance without compromising the environment.

• By sourcing raw materials from agricultural waste and CO₂-derived inputs, Brightplus reduces emissions, improves traceability, and decreases reliance on virgin resources.

The round was led by Collateral Good with co-lead participation from Butterfly Ventures and support from new and existing investors.

• Collateral Good is a Zurich-based venture capital firm founded in 2021, focusing on addressing environmental challenges by investing in innovative technologies. It invests globally from Seed to Series A, opportunistically Series B.

• With over €200 million in assets under management, the firm operates several funds targeting sustainable solutions in food, packaging, textiles, and buildings.

The funding will help the company accelerate this scale-up while strengthening its partnerships with global textile brands and expanding into new applications.
