Estonian company Bolt has signed an agreement with Chinese company Pony.ai to launch autonomous robotaxis in Europe, EuroNews reports.
Bolt will use a network of Level 4 autonomous vehicles, which allow cars to drive without a driver in specific conditions. The companies plan to gradually integrate these systems into the Bolt network.
-
In the initial stage, the companies will focus on testing the technology in real-world conditions, verifying safety, and developing the user experience.

Bolt did not specify the exact timing of the launch of robotaxis, but noted that the first launches will take place in cities in EU countries and other European states.
Pony.ai called the cooperation a step towards entering the promising European market. The company already operates in China. Its fleet includes approximately 720 robotaxis and 200 autonomous trucks.
At the end of October 2025, NVIDIA announced a partnership with Uber to create the world’s largest network of Level 4 autonomous vehicles, known as robotaxis.
The first NVIDIA-based Uber robotaxis are expected to hit the roads as early as 2027.
In addition to Uber, Stellantis, Lucid, and Mercedes-Benz have joined the Level 4 autonomy ecosystem, developing passenger cars with NVIDIA technology, while Aurora, Volvo Autonomous Solutions, and Waabi are developing long-haul trucks.
