$13B for AI security development. Anthropic raised funding and increased its valuation to $183B

American AI company Anthropic announced the closing of a $13 billion Series F funding round. ICONIQ was the lead investor, with Fidelity Management & Research Company and Lightspeed Venture Partners as co-leads.

Following the deal, the company was valued at $183 billion.

  • Altimeter, Baillie Gifford, BlackRock, Blackstone, Coatue, D1 Capital Partners, General Atlantic, General Catalyst, and other major investors also participated in the round.

  • According to Anthropic CFO Krishna Rao, the company is seeing “exponential growth in demand” from corporate clients, developers, and AI startups.

  • This growth is due to the popularity of Claude models and products based on them. In particular, the Claude Code development tool, launched in May 2025, already generates over $500 million in annual run-rate revenue. At the same time, the company acknowledges that Claude could also be used for malicious purposes.

The company plans to use the $13 billion raised to expand its enterprise capabilities, international expansion, and AI security research.

Recently, Anthropic and its competitor OpenAI also took an unexpected step — they mutually assessed each other’s AI security and identified a number of risks.
